Sacred groves used to be found near every Yoruba settlement, but their disappearance overtime has made Osun-Osogbo an important reference point for Yoruba identity and the Yoruba diaspora. Osun-Osogbo sacred grove is a large dedicated cultural landscape of undistributed forests dedicated to Osun, the Yoruba goddess of fertility, love, water, beauty and 💕

Set within the forest sanctuary are forty shrines, sculptures and art works erected in honour of Osun and other Yoruba deities, many created in the past forty years – two palaces, five sacred places and nine river banks with designated priests and priestesses. At present, there is new art installed in the grove by artists, which differentiates it from other groves🌳🌳

Osun-Osogbo sacred grove is also part of the National Tourism development Masterplan that was established with World Tourism Organization (WTO) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The grove continues to serve as a model of African heritage that preserves the tangible and intangible values of Osogbo people in particular, but also the Yoruba people at large

Do you knw that the wonders of the wilderness, also known as Oowu by the locals, is one of West Africa’s tallest waterfalls.

Do you know that Owu waterfall is in Owa Onire, Kwara state, and is part of the Ifelodun local government area.

Do you also know that according to research, the waterfall flows 330 feet down the rock, providing a beautiful view for visitors. It also has a lovely setting for people to take photographs.

But wait ooo😱 we heard that this waterfall respond to voices when you scream “Oowu,” the louder you yell, the greater the loudness of the water and the crazier the outpour becomes.🙀🙀 Is this true?

Research also states that the Owu Waterfall features a 10-meter-high smaller waterfall near to the main waterfall, where you can swim and relax before seeing the main waterfall. The main waterfall is 120 meters high above sea level. See a mighty work of the creator 😱

The coolness of Owu Falls is one of its most appealing features, which can be felt even from a distance of roughly 10 kilometers away, especially during the rainy season. Though the fall is difficult to find because to the poor state of the road, the complication of the site added to the excitements

History made us understand that Owu falls which was a home of a dangerous anaconda and also hazardous bird is said to have been discovered by a local hunter, JIMOH AREMU but brought to limelight over 40 years ago by a missionary, Reverend Plafare Dui after God in his mercy has killed the snake and also sent the harzardous bird away with thunder. And since then its breathtaking beauty has made Owu Waterfall dubbed Nigeria’s most stunning waterfall and also, It is equally one of the top family vacations spots in Nigeria

Have you heard about one of the best tourism attraction in west Africa

A unique real water with 7 stages and 3 major falls that was founded by an hunter in 1140AD
Legend Has it that some migrant led by yeye akinla after the death of oduduwa migrated from ile-ife and settled in Erin ijesha with the instruction of IFA that anywhere they got to after seventeen day of trekking is where they should settle.
Then was called itadogun loosely translated as " 17 days journey"

They didn't know there was a river (waterfall)

A hunter went looking for game and came across it,🙀 with so much fear in his heart he ran to yeye and told her that he has found another god

She asked "NWON NI AWON TI RI OLUWA MIRIN" , meaning WHERE DID YOU SEE ANOTHER GOD. This is where the name " OLUMIRIN" came from

It was written that human sacrifice was made to this fall untill the death of yeye Akinla

And as time goes on in 1959 a king in the land showed off the waterfall to the government of the Western Region headed by Chief Obafemi Awolowo and it has been used for domestic purposes and tourism ever since then.
