🌿✨ A second chance at freedom!
After being rescued from a devastating forest fire near Puerto Maldonado, Peru, this young two-toed sloth has completed its rehabilitation journey. Thanks to the dedicated care of veterinarians and volunteers at the Taricaya Rescue Center, it has healed from its burns and is now being reintroduced into the wild, in the protected Taricaya Ecological Reserve, adjacent to the stunning Tambopata National Reserve. 🦥💚
Unfortunately, wildfires like this one have increased in recent years due to uncontrolled agricultural expansion across Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, and other parts of Latin America. These fires threaten countless species, and many animals never get the chance this sloth did.
By joining our trips like our Baby Taricaya: 4-Day Expedition or Tambopata Canopy Adventure, you not only experience the beauty of the Amazon but also support crucial conservation efforts like these. Your visit helps us give second chances to animals rescued from illegal trafficking, accidents, and natural disasters. 🌱
Be part of the solution and witness moments like this firsthand. Join us in making a real difference!
