Our Story

Since 2010, The beautiful West End of Negril has been home to a special treasure, Tingalaya's Retreat. Tingalaya's sits on 4.5 acres, 1.5 of which are on the beautiful Negril seaside. We have 8 cottages, enough space to host eighteen guests while maintaining a feeling of intimacy, privacy, and tranquility. Authentic Jamaican breakfasts are prepared for you every morning, while other meals can be prepared at your request. Our guests have full use of our gourmet kitchen and dining areas allowing them to experience the joy of shopping, cooking and living in a foreign country. Take in the beauty of our tropical gardens from the shade of your veranda or enjoy just wandering the grounds. Enter our seaside through a garden of flowers, almond trees, and cacti. Hammocks swing easily in the soft sea breeze, shaded by tall trees or hidden in private groves. Follow a path to the private beach and ocean filled pool, where waves roll in and out, refreshing the water as you soak under a breathtaking sunset. Build a bonfire and watch as the day turns to an awe-inspiring night under a star filled sky. We are close enough to town to take in nightlife and Negril’s 7 mile beach, yet far enough from the crowds to enjoy complete privacy in your own slice of paradise. Tingalaya’s is also an ideal location for larger family groups, weddings, retreats and other special events. Our accommodations are both eclectic and elegant. Each room holds it’s own special charm, with art and accents from around the world. Tingalaya’s is your ultimate private beach house in the Caribbean. Rooms: 8 Total Occupancy: 19 Seagrape Cottage: This beautiful cottage includes a huge screened-in porch, floor to ceiling shuttered windows, and an in-suite bathroom with shower. The room sleeps two in a gorgeous canopy bed, and includes a large day-bed on on the porch for additional guest or children. The Great House: The master suite of Tingalaya’s, The Great House is a large, light, and airy room with a luxurious in-suite bathroom and shower, screened-in wrap around porch, indoor and outdoor living rooms, and wifi access. A queen sized bed sleeps two in the main house and a trundle sleeps another 2 on the screened in porch. Perfect for families with kids. Butterfly A: Tucked into the back gardens of Tingalaya’s, this quiet room sleeps two. Includes an in-suite bathroom with shower, and connecting door to Butterfly B, which is perfect when you stay as a family or group. Butterfly B: Tucked into the back gardens of Tingalaya’s, this quiet room sleeps two. Includes an in-suite bathroom with shower, and connecting door to Butterfly A, which is perfect when you stay as a family or group. Hummingbird C: Tucked into the back gardens of Tingalaya’s, this quiet room sleeps two. Includes an in-suite bathroom with shower, and connecting door to Hummingbird D, which is perfect when you stay as a family or group. Hummingbird D: Tucked into the back gardens of Tingalaya’s, this quiet room sleeps two. Includes an in-suite bathroom with shower, and connecting door to Hummingbird C, which is perfect when you stay as a family or group. Seaview Cottage: Our Newest Cottage! A sweet little room with an ocean view, surrounded by sea grape trees, hammocks and gardens. This room sleeps two and includes an in-suite bathroom with shower and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. Sunset Cottage: A cozy cottage with an ocean view, surrounded by sea grape trees, hammocks and gardens.
