A few months ago, we submitted a proposal for the new Helsinki architecture and design museum.

We put together a compelling scheme that addressed the fictional requirements, the context while telling a story of Finnish Architecture and design.

As the academic year concludes, we’re proud to look back on Wellington—a student accommodation project designed to redefine the living and learning experience for Monash students.

At the heart of Wellington is a commitment to the idea that thoughtful architecture plays a crucial role in fostering success. Designed to balance privacy with connection, calm with energy, and functionality with beauty, the project creates an environment where students can excel both academically and socially.

As we head into the holiday season, we’re reminded of how important it is to design with retail in mind.

One of our favorite projects, the ‘July’ pop-up at Chadstone Shopping Centre, showcased our approach to creating elevated spaces for premium brands. For this luxury luggage label, we crafted an environment that reflected their commitment to quality and style, making every visit a memorable experience.

It’s a perfect example of how design can transform the retail journey, especially as we look forward to the busy season ahead.

Meet “More or Less”

A concept developed in house at ODO.

In Australia’s housing scene, affordability is a pressing issue, especially in major cities. The pandemic has driven up prices, straining suburban and rural areas as city dwellers seek affordable, spacious homes. COVID migration reduces rental options in outer regions, increasing rental stress and displacing residents, disrupting communities and social ties.

Our aim is to sustain community bonds throughout life stages, promoting engagement and connection to place. We propose flexible programs anchored by an Innovative Entrepreneur Hub, onsite farming, interactive landscaping, and the Living Village PreFab Warehouse.

Our inspiration for the design concept is based on the life cycle, focusing on sustainability whether this is the individual, the community, the landscape, the farm, the building or the act of construction itself. Flexibility within a framework whereby the architecture adapts and ultimately supports the ever-changing needs of an individual and the community.

We’re truly inspired by the design of the Yokohama Ferry Terminal by Foreign Office Architects. What could have been just another functional transit hub has become a thriving community space—almost like an urban park.

The open, light-filled spaces and seamless connection to the city invite people to pause, explore, and interact.

It’s a perfect example of how thoughtful architecture can transform everyday infrastructure into something much more meaningful.

Bond Hawthorn pays homage to Hawthorn’s rich brick-building heritage, with each meticulously placed brick in the facade reflecting the area’s architectural legacy.

This project not only celebrates the timeless beauty of traditional craftsmanship but also symbolises our commitment to strengthening community bonds, much like the enduring connections between bricks that form a solid structure.
