Historic Skagit moment! This photo was taken in August 1930 when Seattle City Light dedicated the Diablo Dam. At the time the construction concluded, the dam was the tallest dam in the world, standing at 389 feet.

It's getting colder up in Newhalem! Did you know Newhalem receives an average of 14 snow days yearly in December? That makes for a lot of beautiful winter scenes, just like this one!

In the North Cascades where the Skagit Hydroelectric Project is, snow has already fallen and with it comes enough precipitation to extinguish the remnants of the Sourdough Fire.
