About Us

Well placed for future success, TRAVLR is led by Australian husband and wife duo Simon & Lani te Hennepe. Their journey towards creating TRAVLR began in 2009, when Simon & Lani launched The Bali Bible.

As a seasoned traveller to Bali, Lani was often asked by friends and family about the best things to do, see and experience in Bali. Lani’s list of recommendations quickly became sought after in the couple’s wider network. Seizing the opportunity, and leveraging Simon’s experience running web development company Hypd, the couple created a simple way to share these recommendations, via a website and page.

Overnight The Bali Bible page grew from 2 followers to over 1,000. To date, The Bali Bible outperforms travel giant Trip Advisor for social engagement on instagram, albeit for one destination only.

Off the back of the success of The Bali Bible, the co-founders quickly identified a more significant gap in the market and opportunity to deliver a better experience for both travellers and tourism businesses, globally. The ability for travellers to dream, plan, book, experience and share their trip within the one platform was paramount to creating a unique point of difference, putting simplicity first.
