Sometimes, it’s easier to push away the people who care about us than it is to tell them the truth.
A defense mechanism, an excuse, a hidden agenda…
We shut the door on the ones who love us the most.
We do this primarily out of shame. But the thing is those people, those amazing people, wouldn’t judge us or shame us—that kind of punishment is what our minds do to us. Our insecurities make up an excuse to sidestep how we feel because it’s easier.
Then we leave them wondering.
They try to justify and figure out what is happening, and the wheel goes around.
We are not children.
We don’t need to hide.
Step up.
Say it and be done. Relive your mind.
