Hamdy and I will be in Egypt in April 2024, and we decided to hop over to visit Israel and Jordan since we are next door. Day 3 -Fes

We started the day driving around the Medina looking at the three different periods of walls. The oldest dates back to the eighth century, the middle the fifteenth century and the newest being the eighteenth century. People still live in the Medina today. All the doors look alike so you can’t tell if the person has a Dar (simple house) or a Riad (house that has an indoor garden and /or pool).
We walked in the oldest part of the Medina, learning, talking and shopping. We got back to our hotel and are now enjoying some mint tea before we build up our stamina to tackle the 3 flights of stairs to our room. Tomorrow we are off to Marakkach stopping in Rabat on the way.
Rabat is on the Reqrak River and the Atlantic Ocean. There are mausoleums and a beautiful Medina that we roamed through.
