I am crazy for old neon signs and old roadside motels. What an adventure traveling is and was!

For St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ I wanted to share a picture of the motel my parents owned back in the 60’s. We lived there! This was located in Cave Jct. Oregon. We had a big pool and most of the kids in the area learned how to swim in that pool, by a woman named Goodie. I can’t recall her last name but I heard she taught about1000 kids how to swim. Great memories. The Lucky Clover Motel. ☘️☘️❤️

My first Rick Steves Tour in two years starts today and I’m not leading it! I am on a once-in-a-lifetime tour guides tour of Turkey with people I’ve been great friends with for years and by the time the tour is over I know I’ll have made more great friends.
Thank you Rick Steves' Europe for giving us the opportunity to walk a mile in our tour members shoes.

Some of you know that I skipped town last week for a quick trip to Italy. I’m a little over a week in and one week to go.
This trip had many purposes: helping my young friend Maisie get settled back into college life in Rome, check on some dear friends post Covid and after a 22 month absence, try to imagine what European travel looks like in a post Covid world for my travel consulting job and of course, satiate my ravenous appetite for European travel.
Most of these pictures are landscape not people due to masks and social distancing but I hope you enjoy them anyway. Have questions what it’s like to be on the ground in Italy right now-ask away.

Now more than ever, we need firefighters.

This memorial week for fallen firefighters is an opportunity for those who manage and battle wildland fires to remember, reflect and learn from tragic incidents.

More importantly, by examining the past, we lessen the likelihood those tragedies will recur in the future.
