🐐 Always use caution when hiking, especially in temperatures exceeding 85F/29C. Trails in Valley of Fire State Park often feel much longer than listed due to the terrain and weather.

Nevada State Parks is excited to announce the launch of a new app that will make it easier than ever for visitors to connect with nature and access information about parks and trails from their mobile devices. Powered by OuterSpatial, the mobile app is free and enhances access to the entire Nevada State Park system with real-time updates about on-the-ground conditions, including wayfinding tools, interactive maps, park guidelines, visitor photos, points of interest, events, a digital passport challenge and more. Visitors can use the app to:

• Plan a visit to a park and make the most of a visit once there.
• Get biking, walking, and driving directions to Nevada State Parks and trails.
• Navigate safely while on trails using the gps powered app. No cell phone signal needed once app is installed.
• Locate parking, restrooms, picnic areas and other park amenities.
• Access information about natural, cultural, and historic points of interest.
• Share experiences and photos and connect with others who love the outdoors.

Nevada residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Nevada Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 23 with a “fee-free” day at Nevada’s State Parks. Park fees, including entrance, camping (Saturday night) and boating, where applicable, will be waived at state parks throughout Nevada.

Nevada Public Lands Day encourages Nevadans to discover the many exciting and affordable recreation opportunities right in their own backyards. “Nevada’s state parks offer a huge variety of outdoor adventures,” said State Parks Administrator Bob Mergell. “For example, visitors can travel Nevada’s backroads to discover the rustic and remote Beaver Dam State Park, experience what life was like for the pioneers at historic Fort Churchill, or relax in the shade of wild grape vines at Kershaw-Ryan State Park.”

A new reservation system is in place for those wanting to visit our state parks. More info ⬇️

Have you heard the news? We have officially launched our reservation system! Go to reservenevada.com to make your camping reservations for each of our reservable campgrounds or buy your day pass (valid for date of purchase only) to Valley of Fire State Park right now!

Don't forget that reservations open up on a 11 month rolling calendar at 8am PST.

Group Use Areas for Valley of Fire will be available for reservations beginning November 1, 2023. On January 02, 2024 the Group Use Areas in each of the other parks will become available. Group Areas will continue to be available for reservation on an 11 month rolling calendar thereafter.

Still not sold on creating your account today? Remember that reservations are not a requirement, but they can help if you want a specific campsite or area during specific dates. Campsites can be paid for one-night at a time, depending on availability, for those who wish to arrive without a reservation.

The new additional closures include:
• Hemenway Harbor Complex to include Hemenway Launch Ramp, Las Vegas Boat
Harbor, Lake Mead Marina, and Lake Mead Cruises.
• Callville Bay Marina Complex, including Callville Bay Launch Ramp (set to close at 1 p.m. today)

Park officials may close other locations as needed.
