Days 8&9 - On our last full day, we went to SoFi Stadium where the Rams play. We didn’t take an official tour because we didn’t have enough time but saw parts of the stadium and visited the team store. We then headed to Warner Bros. Studios for a tour. It was fantastic! We spent about 3 hours between the guided and individual parts of the tour. We were able to go onto the sound stage for the show All American as it was not in production. We learned a lot about TV and movies. When that tour wrapped up, it was time to head to Dodger Stadium for our last MLB stadium of the trip. There is something classic about Dodger Stadium, and the landscape beyond the stadium is beautiful. After the game, we headed back to the hotel to pack and headed to the airport around 2 a.m. to return the rental car and fly home. We landed in St. Louis and were home by about 2:30. We had an amazing vacation, and I already can’t wait for our next adventure!

Day 7 - We headed to Hollywood today! Peyton found us the best restaurant for a late breakfast - The Breakfast Club. From there, we walked along the Walk of Fame and sites like the El Capitan Theatre. We then took a Celebrity Homes Tour with Hollywood Bus Tours which was fantastic. When we returned, we finished walking around before heading to the Malibu Peer and a seafood dinner at Reel Inn. We drove back to Pasadena through Topanga, and it was beautiful. It was then time to rest up for our last day of vacation!

Day 6 - We checked out of the Disneyland Hotel and headed to the parks. We took the monorail into Disneyland to experience rides like Space Mountain again and to wrap up a few more of the Fantasyland attractions such as Alice in Wonderland.

Our ride on Space was cut short when the ride stopped, the lights came on, and we were pushed to the end of the ride. After removing a phone from the track underneath the car in front of us, we were allowed to ride again so it worked out well in the end.

We had lunch at Tiana’s Place, and it was delicious! We all agreed this was our best quick service meal. After lunch, we park hopped across to California Adventure in less than 10 minutes.

We rode some of the rides again before hopping back to Disneyland when Incredicoaster was still closed for some final shopping on Main Street and to grab a few sweet treats for our next stop.

Once we left the parks, we drove to Pasadena where we would spend the next 3 nights at the Courtyard by Marriott Pasadena Old Town. This was a great hotel and was very close to the Rose Bowl. After a quick visit to the Santa Monica Pier, we headed toward the Rose Bowl. We also grabbed dinner at an old school In-N-Out Burger just a couple of miles from our hotel.

Day 5 - Disney’s California Adventure park was wonderful! The theming at this park is top notch! We loved the rides and attractions as well of course. We spent the morning at the park before heading to Downtown Disney for lunch at Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes (absolutely delicious and the best shake ever) and shopping. We then took a break at the resort before heading back until park closing.

I felt like I was walking into Radiator Springs when we entered Cars Lans. Radiator Springs Racers was much more than we expected and well worth he 40 minute wait.

We loved the Incredicoaster but unfortunately only got to ride it once as it was having issues all 3 days we were in the parks. Pixar Pier was such a fun area with the rides but also the vibe of being on the boardwalk.

Avengers Campus was great and full of your favorite Marvel heroes. Web slinging with Soider Man was great.

We love Soarin’ and made it our first ride of the day with absolutely no wait.

We even tried our hand at animation with a 30 minute session where learned to draw a Disney character. Let’s just say, animation is not in my future, but it was a lot of fun.

The nighttime show, World of Color - One was so powerful. It was well worth getting a spot in the virtual queue to view it from the preferred area.

At the end of the day, we decided California Adventure was at the top of our list for Disney Parks. We shut down the park and were back in our room within 15 minutes. What a great day!

Day 4 - We were up early to spend the day at Disneyland. It was a very short walk through Downtown Disney to the entrance.

Two immediate observations compared to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida - the crowd size was much smaller at the entrance as in there was no wait to enter the park. While it did get crowded, wait times were never more than 30 minutes for anything we chose to do. Second, we did not sweat. The temps were amazing - even cool by evening.

We spent the day checking out all the attractions. Arriving early allowed us to walk on to Space Mountain without stopping as well as Star Tours.

We took a break in the late afternoon and had dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen at our resort before heading back to Disneyland in time for Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular. After fireworks, we rode a few more rides as the park was open till midnight. Day 1 was a definite success.

Day 3 - We had an amazing breakfast at the Beach Break Cafe in Oceanside before heading north to Anaheim. If you are in Oceanside, you must give it a try!

After breakfast, we headed to Anaheim and checked in at the Disneyland Hotel for the next 3 nights. We were in the Fantasy Tower and had a great view of the pool. We explored the 3 Disneyland Resort hotels for the afternoon before heading to MLB stadium #2 and the Anaheim Angels game.

Angel Stadium is older, but the organization has done a lot to keep it updated and showcase current and past players and accomplishments. The weather was perfect for baseball, and the short 10 minute drive back to the resort was nice as well especially since our park days began the next morning!

We just recently returned from an 8 night vacation to Southern California that included Disneyland Resort, 3 Major League Baseball games, and sightseeing in the LA area. I will be posting trip highlights over the next week.

Day 1 - We flew Southwest Airlines from St. Louis to LAX. After a 2 hour weather delay, we made it to the airport. We rented a car from Hertz, and that process was super easy and convenient. We then drove to Oceanside where we spent the first 2 nights of the vacation at the Courtyard by Marriott. It was a nice hotel that we agreed we would stay at again.

Day 2 - We spent the day in San Diego. The Padres had a home afternoon game that we attended. Petco Park just might be my new favorite stadium! The Padres have done things right. From the statues to the murals to the hall of fame exhibits and even the team store, it is evident the pride the organization has for its teams past and present. In addition to the game, we visited the Gaslamp Quarters and walked through the Seaport Village for some shopping. San Diego seems like a great city, and we definitely want to visit again. We had dinner in Oceanside at the Rockin’ Baja Lobster and caught a beautiful senset by the Pacific Ocean.
