Kate says Lagos is an underrated place in Portugal—beautiful beaches, bright blue ocean, and plenty of opportunities for kayaking/hiking near by. Watching the sunset at the End of the World makes you understand how it got its name. It’s absolutely breathtaking and a must see if you are thinking about travelling to Portugal.

Merve says Brussels (Belgium) is one of the most green European capitals. Lots of parks and gardens are present in the city. Also, climb to the top of this hillside arts precinct for views across the city and then visit some of the city’s best-known cultural institutions!⠀

Elana says that no matter where you study abroad, if you find yourself in Europe, Paris (France) is a must. Standing in front of the Eiffel Tower is one of the most surreal experiences. The city is so beautiful, a weekend there just isn't enough!

If you're ever in the province of Alicante (Spain), Vivaldo says you have to visit the town of Guadalest. Here there is the Fuentes del Algar where you can see beautiful waterfalls, picnic, and explore! The town center is beautiful and worth a visit too. Vivaldo also says it helps to rent a car to see more of the area.

If you're in Chefchaouen (Morocco), Seána says to make sure to grab some fresh bread from a local bakery and explore the side streets filled with little market stands (great spots for souvenirs and momentos)! Also, be sure you haggle the items for a cheaper price! Begin at 25% of their offering, and work your way to meet at a price somewhere in the middle.

If you’re ever in Budapest (Hungary), visiting the Széchenyi Thermal baths is a MUST. It’s the largest bath complex in Europe with 15 indoor baths and 3 pools outside. loved the experience, especially because he was surrounded by beautiful old architecture!

Everyone knows Paris (France) is a beautiful city, but you can see even more of it if you explore by bicycle! Yasin rents bikes in every city he visits, and suggests renting them from the city of Paris itself for only € 1.70 per day.

Whether or not you're a bookworm, the Prague Municipal Library hosts a must-see interactive sculpture: The Infinity of Knowledge. Erin recommends visiting this book tunnel, as its location is right in the heart of Old Town Prague (Czech Republic) which makes it very accessible. Plus, you can tell your family you actually visited a library while studying abroad. 😉

If you take the train to Stonehaven (Scotland), there is a beautiful walk from the station, through the city, ending right at Dunnotar Castle! Paige recommends you walk the whole thing, then finish the day with fish and chips at The Bay restaurant. ⠀
