Excitement is building for our 4th annual Tuscany trip next May 17-24!! You don't want to miss this one! We'll be staying at the beautiful villa you see pictured, just outside the charming town of Lucca. We'll have a fantastic chef on-site for our delicious dinners. And we'll take excursions each day to see the region - Pisa, Lucca, Siena, the Cinque Terre, San Gimignano, and Florence (of course)! New to the 2025 travel calendar - Enchanting Northern Portugal

Dates: Sept 11-21, 2025
Small group tour starts and ends in Lisbon. Highlights include private guided tours in Lisbon, Porto, Sintra, and more! We’ll also enjoy a private boat excursion on the Douro River with a wine tasting experience and entrance to some of the most beautiful castles and sanctuaries in Portugal!

Itinerary:
Day 1 – Arrival in Portugal. Transportation from Lisbon airport to hotel in Cascais.

Day 2 – Lisbon. Full day in Lisbon including guided walking tour of the key sites.

Day 3 – Sintra/Cascais. Morning visit to Sintra; afternoon tour and free time in Cascais.

Day 4 – Peniche/Obidos/Nazare. Free time to explore the fishing village of Peniche and Obidos.

Day 5 – Fatima. We'll visit the Fatima sanctuary and basilica, as well as the Nazare lighthouse/fortress.

Day 6 – Ourem/Tomar. Private tour of the Convent of Christ (HQ of the Knights Templar) and the Synagogue of Tomar. We’ll also visit the castle and charming town of Ourem.

Day 7 – Alcobaca/Porto. Visit to the old town and monastery of Alcobaca.

Day 8 - Porto/Guimareas/Douro Valley. Morning tour of the highlights of Porto; Afternoon visit to the castle in Guimaraes. Arrival at hotel in the Douro Valley.

Day 9 – Douro Valley. Full day tour of the Douro Valley including a private boat trip on the Douro River, Pinhao, and Regua, with winery visits and wine tasting experience.

Day 10 - Coimbra/Lisbon. Free time to explore Coimbra and the King João’s Library on our way back to Lisbon.

Day 11 – Departure.

Includes: 10 nights’ accommodation (3 in Cascais, 3 in Nazare, 1 in Porto, 2 in Pinhao, and 1 in Lisbon); meals included: daily breakfasts, 2 dinners; ground transportation in private vehicle; admission/tickets for 7 attractions including: Pena Palace, World of Wine, Monserrat, Alcobaça Monastery, Christ Convent in Tomar, Guimaraes Castle, Douro Museum in Peso da Regua, 2 winery visits/wine tastings, and private boat trip in the Douro Valley.

Despite the little burst of rain today, I am loving the beach town of Cefalú and plan to return! We did an early morning hike to La Rocca to try to avoid the rain. Had a few sprinkles but overall great hike. We said arrivederci to Ortigia and eastern sicily and made our way across the island of Sicily today. First stop, Valley of the Temples and then the Turkish Steps. From there, we headed to the northwestern corner, Trapani, where we checked in and headed up, up, up to Erice for dinner.
