After 9/11 it gradually has become more difficult to travel to the U.S. 2007 the American congress voted for the patriot act. Since 2009 all citizens in the 36 countries in the Visa Waver program must have their ESTA-applications approved before boarding an aircraft or a ship, heading to the U.S. Staffan Mitchell got an idea. It’s simple. If you have to apply from a computer to the public and secure ESTA homepage, why not do it from your smartphone or iPad? During the spring of 2012 he therefore developed an App, ESTA TRAVELLER, which is up’n running, and tested since May 2012. Access to pure water
– When Staffan Mitchell read my letter he saw the possibility to do something extra, says Mrs Gunilla Marklund DG. As a member of Rotary he wanted to contribute in his way to some water prohect. He contacted the president in his Rotary club, Mr. Bertil Bucht. Staffan Mitchell told him that he wanted to give 30 percent of all revenues to Rotary, generated by selling the App. It was set on two conditions. Number one: The money generated should be used in some water projects operated by Rotary. Number two: Every Rotarian should be informed about the existence of this App and its purpose. What a tool
– When Bertil Bucht called me and told me this story; I was overwhelmed by the reaction of my letter and even more when I realized the possibilities we suddenly got in our own hands. This happened in August 2012. We started our cooperation, directly.
