March 9, 1997 - A day etched in memory 🙏🏿🤴🏿

Can you believe it’s been 27 years since we lost Biggie Smalls? Remember that eerie feeling when the news broke? The world just felt... quieter. ⁣

But Biggie’s legacy is anything but silent. Celebrating his life, his music, his impact - that’s a tradition, especially here in Brooklyn! That’s why we’re so hyped about the Biggie Experience Museum opening TODAY at 503 Atlantic Ave., honoring the Notorious B.I.G.!

This is gonna be a legendary way to honor Biggie. Huge s/o to T’Yanna Dream Wallace for sharing this experience with the world and bringing it home to Brooklyn ☮️💟☮️💟☮️💟

Let’s blast back to 1786... 🇺🇸

Erasmus Hall aka wasn’t just a high school... it was the 🥇FIRST secondary school chartered by the New York State Regents! Founded by the likes of John H. Livingston and John Vanderbilt, this Brooklyn gem boasted 26 students in its original clapboard building. Talk about humble beginnings!

Fast forward to today...

is now a buzzing campus housing five smaller schools, each with its own unique flavor. Humanities nerds, tech whizzes, artists extraordinaire – there’s a place for everyone in this historic hub!

Hidden gem: The original 1787 building is undergoing a major restoration. Soon, it’ll be back in its glory, housing the Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce! ️
