"There are many hidden gems in the hills and valleys of Tuscany that have been long forgotten and neglected. The lovely little Chapel of San Filippino sits abandoned, with its angels and putti still watching over the memories of its patron saint, the gentle San Filippo Neri, known for his generosity and sense of humor and called the Saint of Joy. The chapel is adorned with ceiling paintings and sculpture in the exuberance of the Baroque style, now sadly in a state of rapid deterioration. The Chapel deserves to be saved. With its renovation, the conservation of the structure and its art will enhance a beautiful and historic location that will become a pilgrimage destination for travelers in search of the memory of a saint who deserves to be respected and honored, and the best of the Baroque."
