Avocado is an word. No lie. The word was first used by Hans Sloane, born in County Down. He published a catalogue of Jamaican plants in 1696 mentioning Avocado whose name emerged from the Aztec word for testicle, because of its shape. Remember that next time your smashing one on toast. 😆
