👏 My hands are on show today!

It's really easy to book our tours from our website; just a little 1-2-3 step (I can't dance, by the way 😬).

Click. Book. Done! And no dancing required 😁

What do fried and baked pastries have in common?

Centuries of Trinidad and Tobago history, and lots of deliciousness and joy in every bite!

Fried goodies like aloo pies and saheena tell the stories of the resourcefulness of our ancestors; creating magic from simple ingredients.

Meanwhile, baked favourites like coconut rolls and beef pies carry whispers of colonial influences, sweetened and spiced with local creativity.

These pastries aren’t just snacks—they’re stories, comfort, and happiness rolled into one. 🌟

Which pastry always puts a smile on your face? Share your favourite memory with us in the comments, and share this post with someone who loves a good food history lesson! 🤓

Indigenous cooking style mixed with discarded food scraps.

Trinidad & Tobago's pastelles are a very popular food item at Christmas time.

They are very similar to Venezuela's hallacas and Puerto Rico's pasteles. They are delicious mix of meats with olives and capers steamed in a cornmeal dough and wrapped in banana leaves.

Paselles combine the cooking methods of the indigenous peoples (eg., the use of cornmeal) and the scraps of food discarded by the slave masters (such as meat, olives and capers) and used by the African slaves to make this dish for their own Christmas dinner.

A "healthy" dessert?

Trinidad's cassava pone is an indigenous snack/dessert made with cassava, coconut, pumpkin, sugar, and various spices.

It's very tasty. It has a texture similar to bread pudding.

Where I find peace and reset my soul; a fresh produce market.

The sights, colours, sounds, tastes, and feel of everything wrap themselves around you in a sort of spiritual comfort.
