This after we hopped aboard a powerboat and took a ride through the Macuco Falls Canyon. We had an up close view of the falls as our boat operator drove us right under the falls getting us totally soaked. Yes we did it!!!

Buenos Aires city tour today…started at the cemetery where the grave of Eva Peron, the First Lady of Argentina is buried, we checked out an indoor market area, went for a snack of chorizo sausage sandwich and an Argentinian cerveza, and the La Boca area. We weren’t able to see and do everything on the itinerary as it was a national holiday in Argentina, The Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice, commentating the victims of the dirty war. Many protesters were on 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest street in the world. Was quite something to see as our hotel is on that avenue!

We arrived in Buenos Aires, birthplace of the Tango. We put our dancing shoes on, well maybe not, and off we went for a tango lesson, lovely dinner and then a spectacular tango performance!

Wednesday was a full day of beautiful sights as we made our way through the natural wonders of Torres del Paine National Park.

Today we went by ferry to Isla Magdalena. We saw sea lions, marine birds, whales, dolphins and of course penguins and more penguins (Magellanic penguins). Awesome day walking on the path watching the penguins. I will apologize now for all the pics.
To top the day off we visited a Patagonian estansia (ranch) and had the best BBQ lamb ever, then watched a sheep shearing demonstration on the working ranch.

A wonderful day driving out into the country to Casablanca Valley where we stopped at a local vineyard for a tour and tasting. We carried on to the coastal town of Valparaiso, here we saw the UNESCO port and 2 hilltop neighborhoods, Cerro Alegre & Cerro Concepcion, famous for their colorful houses and imaginative street art.

Santiago, Chile lies at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. There are 8 million people living in the city, with the majority of Chilean people living in the city. We took the funicular up Santa Lucia Hill for a view of the vast city. We bussed through the Barrio Bellavista area to see the beautiful street art, market area, and buildings.
