The Reykjanes Peninsula in South Iceland is where the tectonic plates of North America and Europe join, or separate. There are places underwater that you can actually dive the plates and literally be between the two continents. Here they are above ground and you can actually walk across them from one to the other.

Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady
Standard Balcony Cabin. Virgin has three different balcony categories, Standard, Central (same as Standard but in the middle of the ship) and XL (has a slightly larger balcony and a larger bathroom). The Standard is a little smaller than most balconies I’ve had and the bathroom is the smallest I’ve seen. If that’s important to you, definitely upgrade to the XL Balcony. Good offering of movies on the tv but very limited live tv channels (ESPN, ESPN 2, BBC, BBC News, CNBC and Fox News). The A/C worked well. All in all the cabin is sufficient but on the lower end of other balcony cabins I’ve had on other lines
Sandals South Coast
This mornings agenda @ Sandals South Coast
Sorry for the delay but I promised to recap our experience of trying out the small ship luxury cruise segment (we tried the Seabourn Ovation). Also apologize as I fear this may be a lengthy post 🙃
My overall recap is without a doubt there was a significant difference in the level of service and quality. Add that to the small number of guests (we had 550 guests vs 425 staff) we never felt crowded, never had a line (worst line was if you went to the Espresso/Coffee bar at the wrong time in the morning and even then the max was 4 people) so anyone who says they don’t like cruises because of the masses of people, these could definitely be an option. The only negative I saw (it wasn’t for me but could be for others) was the fewer number of activities or entertainment. Someone who likes to party it up in the casino all night or have a dance club may not enjoy themselves.
PRO’s
Level of detail
Quality of service
Quality of food
Fewer people
Ability to visit smaller ports that the big ships can’t get to (our sailing visited Dominica, Guadalupe, Martinique, Barbados and Sophers Hole BVI)
CON’s
Quantity of entertainment
Smaller ship so we did feel more movement
Other notes (not pro or con)
Smaller ports required tendering vs docked
Much older crowd. I am 57 and would say 80% was older than me. There were enough our age that we met several couples but larger demographic was 65+
All in all a great experience if you want a relaxing vacation were you will be pampered with quality food and service. I highly recommend !
Sandals Royal Barbados & Sandals Barbados. Great option for those who want an Adults only all inclusive vacation but don’t want Mexico, Dominican Republic or Jamaica (videos in comments)

Seabourn Ovation Day 2 - Sopher’s Hole BVI
One advantage of the small ship is it can get into places the larger ships can’t. Tortola BVI is a common stop for the big guys but they can’t get in to these smaller areas which allowed us to spend today at Jost Van Dyke Island and it meets up to its reputation. Absolutely stunning beach and water!
