Before we left Indiana, I did a modicum of research on local events in places where we’d be. I found the next town over, Fontana, has a concert in the park series on Thursday nights. Tonight - DSB (Don’t Stop Believing). Of course, a Journey tribute band! While we’ve seen Nashville based Resurrection - A Journey Tribute countless times back home in Indiana, we were really happy to find DSB during our stay out here this month. Southern California is lucky to have these guys, and definitely deserve your support if you live in SoCal!
Since I couldn’t post videos and pics on our previous post, I’m just going to leave these couple of songs here you’ll know. Like I tell everyone I know, Resurrection - A Journey Tribute is better than the real Journey is today! Find a tour date near you on their website and make your own roadtrip memory! http://notjourney.com
After we loaded up on Heath bars at the Heath Museum in Robinson, IL Saturday, we headed south to St Francisville, IL to cross back over the Wabash River into Indiana. This was the coolest $2 toll I’ve ever paid. The Cannonball Bridge is a former single lane rail crossing of the Wabash Cannonball, dating back to 1897. Abandoned in 1965, it was purchased by a local farmer in 1968 who converted it to vehicular traffic. At 1441 feet long, it’s now owned and operated by the State of Illinois. Enjoy!
Had a great time last night at the last show of the Sullivan Corn Festival - this time, a show called Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience…it was a lot of fun, another excellent tribute. Here’s them performing Billie Jean. #2022cornfestival
Wednesday it was Journey, tonight it’s the Beatles rockin’ the Sullivan Rotary Club Corn Festival. BritBeat Beatles Tribute
One of the finest areas of Route 66 Oklahoma has to offer. Enjoying this 88 year old relic before a 2-year reconstruction project begins on it in the coming months.

What an incredible treasure on Route 66 in Springfield, Missouri! Restoration began 3 years ago on these 10 rooms on Springfield’s west side by former Springfield city councilwoman Phyllis Ferguson. We could’ve talked for hours, as we spent some time with her outside for close to an hour talking about how this place was a haven for prostitution and drug trafficking before she and her husband bought it in 2019. The riffraff are all gone now and it’s now one of the finest vintage properties on the entire route. She was kind enough to spend a few minutes with us on video while she talked about our room - the “It’s All in the Movies” room - and some history of the Rockwood.
