Harwood Dale is a small rural village located in the North York Moors National Park.

Harwood Dale is situated off the A171 Scarborough to Whitby road and provides the perfect base from which to explore the many attractions of the Yorkshire Coast.

Notice of the Draft Pastoral (Church Buildings Disposal) Scheme - Harwood Dale Old St Margaret's Church. Please be aware that the opportunity to comment on the proposal for the transfer of the Old St Margaret's Church from the care of the Diocese of York into the care of the current land owner of the surrounding farmland, closes on 2nd August. The attached information details the scheme and the information needed to comment - these should be sent directly by post or email to Shaman Durrant at the addresses given.
The Old St Mary's Church is no longer in the care of the Parochial Church Council (PCC) for St Peter's with St Margaret's. The PCC has made a response highlighting the importance of maintaining ease of access to the Old St Margaret's and encouraging this, seeking assurance regarding care of the site and arrangements for making a complaint if access is not proving possible. Meanwhile, the 'New' St Margaret's Church remains unaffected and available for worship at festivals and for baptisms, weddings and funerals.
