PROCLAMATIONS of the Divine Exchange
Jesus was punished . . .
that we might be forgiven. (1)
Jesus was wounded . . .
that we might be healed. (2)
Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness . . .
that we might be made righteous with His righteousness. (3)
Jesus died our death . . .
that we might receive His life. (4)
Jesus was made a curse . . .
that we might enter into the blessing. (5)
Jesus endured our poverty . . .
that we might share His abundance. (6)
Jesus bore our shame . . .
that we might share His glory. (7)
Jesus endured our rejection . . .
that we might have His acceptance with the Father. (8)
Jesus was cut off by death . . .
that we might be joined to God eternally. (9)
Our old man was put to death in Him . . .
that the new man might come to life in us. (10)
1 & 2) Isaiah 53:4–5 Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
3) 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
4) Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
5) Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
6) 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.
