Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Brandon Gonez is a graduate of York University with a B.A. degree in Communications and a certificate in Television and Radio broadcasting from Seneca College. After graduating from Seneca College, he began his career in Northwest British Columbia as a video-journalist for CFTK-TV News, before being promoted to Senior Reporter and fill-in anchor for the nightly news in Terrace, B.C. There, Gonez covered the missing and murdered Aboriginal women tragedy, Highway of Tears, as well as the controversial liquefied national gas (LNG) sector. He then joined the Global News team in Regina, Sask. as a reporter and anchor where he fell in love with the distinct beauty of The Prairies.

After years of being away from family, Gonez returned to Ontario and joined the CTV News Barrie team as Reporter/Weather Anchor. Gonez enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially his nephew, Noah. In his spare time, he likes to travel, watch Raptors games, and play basketball and tennis.
