Our monthly workshops are designed to introduce children to the principles of hand and machine sewing. We believe that children can achieve a great deal with a needle and thread, some basic knowledge and lots of encouragement. Sewing is great for developing fine motor skills and children are never too young to develop their confidence and creativity. We design exciting projects that can be complet
ed in one workshop. Children will leave having learnt a new skill and with a delightful item they have made themselves. All the skills learnt can be continued at home using basic equipment. Class sizes are kept small, up to 12 children with 2 experienced teachers giving personal tuition sympathetic to the child’s individual ability. The workshops are designed for children aged 8 to 14 of all abilities and experience levels. Our workshops are popular with both boys and girls and all projects are designed to have broad appeal. Threading a needle and tying knots. Cutting out and assembling pattern pieces. Hand sewing using a variety of different stitches. Introduction to sewing machining using straight and zigzag stitch. Workshops introduce new techniques as well as practicing learnt skills to build confidence in a fun and relaxed environment. Where are the workshops?
