My biscotti is made to order so it comes to you fresh and delectable, with all natural ingredients and no preservatives. Nuts enhance the flavor, so most varieties include nuts ... almonds, hazelnuts, macadamia, pecans, pistachios, or walnuts. Biscotti is traditionally an Italian classic, having been baked for centuries. The root name is derived from "bis" and "cotto." "Bis" translates to "more th
an once" and "cotto" means "cooking" in Italian. The double baking is achieved by forming the dough into logs and baking once; then the baked strips are sliced diagonally and returned to the oven for a second baking. The word "biscotti" is also a generic term used to describe various types of Italian cookies. The subtle sweetness and ultra-crunchiness favor biscotti as dipping cookies, perfect for dunking in wine, coffee, or hot chocolate. Naturally low in fat and sugar as well as calories, this Italian dessert is enjoying great popularity. I hope you will try some today and experience a taste of "the sweet life!"
