My name is Thibaud and I am a French business graduate: I got a Master in Sciences of Business from Grenoble Ecole de Management and just finished my MBA at Telfer School of Management. Passionate about Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Web Technologies, I am now looking forward to start my own company in the eCommerce industry, an amazingly dynamic sector that fascinates me. In June 2011, I was coming to the end of my MBA program in Ottawa, Canada and, despite a strong desire to start my own company (and dozens of business ideas), I had not found a project that was completely blowing my mind yet. Within two months, I would go back to France and I had the feeling that I was missing something. This is when I stumbled upon The Art of Non-Conformity, a very inspiring book in which Chris Guillebeau introduces the following idea: “If you value learning but are not a fan of debt or busywork, why not create a way to learn what you need on your own? The One-Year, Self-Directed, Alternative Graduate School Experience offers a customizable plan to fit the needs of almost any aspiring student.” Eureka! The DODEQA Project
The word DODEQA is inspired by the Twelve Labours of Hercules, also called in Greek the Dodekathlon: 12 months, 12 cities, 12 objectives, these are my labours! So, I am going to leave France again, travel around the world and develop the skills I need to eventually build a strong entrepreneurship project. From November 2011 to October 2012, I will spend one months in each of the 12 following cities: Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Sydney, Melbourne, San francisco, New York City, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.
