The beginning

The idea of Lush Stowe started as a mere concept in 2003 as a junior in high school while following the daily grind of school work and pondering what my future would hold. I quickly became a work-a-holic in high school after having my parents instill in me the value of a good work ethic and that of a dollar. This led me to having no desire to attend college and create immense amounts of debt for myself. I found myself making the decision to quit sports and take every opportunity that presented itself: leaving my high school and attending a trade school to learn Cosmetology(because sure, it was fun), attending free College courses at Champlain College through the trade school, seeking out an apprenticeship at an established salon where I could dive right into the trade I became so passionate about learning.

During my apprenticeship program I was enticed to try-out for MISS VT TEEN USA. It was nothing I would have ever actively sought out, however, the opportunity arose, I somehow ended up in an info session thinking it was for something completely different. Long story... but in a nut shell, it scared the hell out me, so I did what not many people would do and did it anyway. Lol! Emersing myself in what it would take to compete I saw the opportunity this experience presented as I started meeting tons of fun, interesting and confident people. I quickly started networking and taking mental notes. This led to so many opportunities of growth, volunteer work, meeting incredible people and networking my passion for hair and makeup.
