Wildlife Reminder 🐿️

With the high winds and tree debris, there is the possibility of finding fallen nests with baby squirrels.

Should you find a baby squirrel on the ground, they will most likely be wet and cold. You should immediately bring them inside.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GIVE THEM FOOD OR WATER (The slightest mistake from an inexperienced hand may cost them their life)

Once inside, do your best to dry them off and keep them warm. Place them in a container with a soft towel underneath to act like a nest. Keep them in a quiet, dark container. This will keep their stress level to a minimum.

Normally, we ask that you give the parents a chance to relocate their baby, but in the case of a storm of this magnitude, it's best to step in immediately.

📢We are ONE week away from our Back to School Splash and EcoFest! 📢 This year's event is on Saturday, September 14th and runs from 10 am to 1 pm at the Tarpon Springs Splash Park Field. We will have water slides, music, informational vendors and lots of fun! The City of Tarpon Springs is also offering an educational and informative event about the environment. Be sure to bring your swimsuits and towels. We will have Free Hotdogs for the first 200 people and FREE Trees for Tarpon Springs Residents.
