One of my French market faves is the weekly Wednesday ‘marché’ in St. Rémy de Provence… made all the more lively by this street organ music recently… le Monsieur has the perfect voice to go with it, don’t you think? He enjoyed me filming him - and gave me a big wave when I finished. Thankful for wonderful moments like this in France! ❤️🇫🇷
A totally transporting moment in Provence at the lovely @chateaudefonscolombe… I was drinking in every delicious detail… with a glass of rosé in hand, bien sûr! 🧡

Now for something a little different today - come with me for panoramic views here where the Seine river flows into the English Channel in Normandy... You can see the Pont de Normandie which links the charming fishing port town of Honfleur and the bustling commercial port and city of Le Havre... the slow-flowing Seine which is so wide at this point... the skyline of Le Havre... the boats that often come by... and finally the apple orchards on this bank... all from the outlook of La Ferme St. Siméon, the 17th century Norman farm turned luxury hotel... a marvelous get-away spot for the weekend or a good Normandy trip @fermesaintsimeon @relaischateaux.

The light is so amazing in this locale that French impressionist painters Corot, Boudin and Monet among others camped out at La Ferme for inspiration and rich painting sessions. I never tire of this view and I bet they didn’t either! May your week be inspired in big and small ways - très belle semaine à toutes et à tous! 🎨

After rose season, graceful lavender takes center stage in my French garden... Sharing on this confinement Sunday la lavande blowing gently in the breeze... with the bee dancing in and out of the blooms...instant peace and relaxation - kind of a visual spa moment, don’t you think? 💜

Bonjour all... Mark today’s confinement calendar! Tonight at 7:30pm in France, all the church bells in the country will ring for 10 minutes and everyone in France is asked to light a candle in solidarity. While today marks the annunciation of the Virgin Mary, this special moment tonight is not for the religious only. The French Catholic bishops have called for les cloches to ring in order to «manifester notre fraternité et notre espoir commun» face à l'épidémie de Covid-19... in other words, to show our spirit of community and our common hope in the face of the virus epidemic.
For a little preview of what France will sound like at 7:30pm tonight, today’s post features the bells at Beynac et Cazénac in Dordogne... enjoy the beautiful sight and sounds. And consider lighting a candle wherever you are in the world. Stay strong and safe - prenez soin de vous!
