Sometimes we just need to show up.

We have started to arrive at this beautiful retreat 30 minutes from historic Harpers Ferry, WV. Leaves are almost at peak, winds are breezy and cool on the mountaintop and the fire is warming the retreat center awaiting a houseful of widows for relaxation and reflection.

Our Story

Brenda Lee Sieglitz has been teaching successful workshops since 2012 on ‘Traveling Solo’ and ‘Healing through Nature and Travel’ which has given her great insight into the needs of widowed travelers and inspired her to launch Widow Voyages in 2016.

Since losing her husband in 2008 she has found other widows to be great travel companions and travel to be therapeutic in her grief healing process. Brenda has worked as a travel writer for Visit Pennsylvania, Visit Pittsburgh and National Parks Traveler and worked for 5 years at a Pennsylvania travel guide. Now, Brenda empowers widows and widowers to travel on their own through her workshops and on each Widow Voyages trip. In addition, she leads workshops for the travel industry to teach them how best to welcome solo travelers.

Each Widow Voyages trip is chaperoned by Brenda or Emily Kimmett – a trained group tour leader. Trips are open to widows and widowers unless otherwise indicated. Our goal is for widowed travelers to be worry-free on our trips so from the moment you arrive at the destination everything is taken care of until you are on your journey home.
