Gujarat, India - Many years ago, I found myself wandering through the streets of a small village, with no specific destination in mind. As I turned a corner, I stumbled upon a house that caught my attention due to its unique feature - a square open courtyard without a proper entrance door.

Curiosity led me to step inside the empty courtyard. As I looked around, I noticed the face of a young boy peeking out from the other side of the wall. His suspicious gaze made it clear that he was not accustomed to seeing strangers in his home.

Shortly after, a woman and a young girl emerged from within the house. Despite their initial surprise, they greeted me with warm smiles and a respectful namaste. I asked for permission to take a photograph, and they graciously agreed.

I carefully composed the shot, capturing the boy's face, the woman, and the daughter in a single frame. This moment became a lifetime memory for me - a glimpse into the lives of a Gujarati family and their charming home.

Before leaving, the woman invited me to stay for a cup of chai. As we sat together in the courtyard, they shared stories of their village life, while I recounted my travels and the wonders I had encountered.

This chance encounter in Gujarat, which took place many years ago, remains a cherished memory. The warmth and openness of the family, the charm of their home, and the innocence in the eyes of the children created an unforgettable experience that I will always treasure.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
