Just got back from the most perfect stay at Eldorado Maroma and spent one night at the Palifitos over the water bungalows (on the same property) if you are a luxury travelers I highly recommend asking me about this property. Family owned all beach front suites (only about 150 suites), one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, organically grown produce in their greenhouse, 24 hr room service, beach butler service, call drinks, several excursions, huge buffet at Marina Maroma now included. Some room categories with butler service, but no matter if you book the lead in room or an upgrade you have all the same amazing service where the staff know your name and preferences by day 2. Seriously guys, I highly recommend!

I ❤️ this day. It's been 3 yrs since my dad passed away and I have spent the last 2 yrs volunteering at this event. I Think of him and how much he would have loved it. He loved golf and was very involved with VFW so I am proud my business and our family can sponsor to support local vets. Tonight we gave away 20k to local veterans needs and that was before the event was even over. Thank you to all who donated or volunteered. It's so appreciated.

It's been a minute since I posted but I think it's important I share a couple things with you guys.

1. I was just honored at the 2023 top 50 producers with ALGV. Thank you for supporting me and my small business. I could not do it without you!! The events team always makes us feel special. I am so proud to be apart of this

2. While we were in work shops we were discussing the Maui fires. Our hearts go out to the people on the island ❤️ So while the Costco Travelers (see photo) were struggling -- who didn't learn to use a travel agent during Covid 🤦🏻‍♀️ ??? We were being told that ALGV had dedicated service lines/emails/chats set up, customer service teams on the ground to assist guests, and people were being moved to different islands/properties with no penalty. It seems to me that value is worth something

3. While the Costco call center people were not answering the phones b/c they likely have not been to any destination and have no idea how to help guests before, during or after travel I was at 4 properties in 4 days. All very different and beautiful in their own way.

4. I have to thank my small but mighty team for always helping-- Susan Vandehey, Bri Belongea, Jenny Elske and ofcourse my sister who is always willing to help me problem solve or work through things. And LaMacchia Travel who I have been with for over 15 years.

Today we did an amazingly humbling thing- so blessed to have a partner in Mexico Famtrips and friends like Daniel and Lori who's passion it is to give back. We were able to go to a Mayan Village and were welcomed into a home, spend time with some children, and give some needed items. If you are coming to the Cancun area and would like to "give back" let me know Daniel is happy to pick things up from your hotel or arrange for you to go with him to the Villages. It was a truly memorable day.

Long post but some great advice if you’re traveling soon!

I was supposed to fly out of MKE this morning but a last-minute flight cancellation I had be scurrying to O’Hare to catch an alternative flight. Don't worry- I packed my patience!

If you are traveling anytime soon please do the same as with every other industry we are extremely short-staffed right now.

A fellow travel advisor posted this below. This is some of the best travel advice I’ve seen lately. It’s Spot On!!

“GUYS!!! We have to do better with warning our clients and our clients have to do better with realizing what’s going on in the world!!!!! These airlines, resorts, transportation companies all had to let go of HALF of their people last year due to Covid!! They are under staffed!!! There’s nothing they can do about that!!!! YOU HAVE TO PACK PATIENCE!!! At this point it might be more important than your passport!!! THEY ARE TRYING!!!! I don’t know what the future holds but right now everyone is bashing the wrong people!! At the end of the day NO ONE is to blame!!!

Some wise words from an AA flight attendant post…

“If you are flying anywhere this month, on any airline…
Pack snacks and PB&Js, bring a refillable water container, portable charger for your phone, a deck of cards or UNO, download extra movies on iPad, if you have wireless headsets also bring old school plug in type, bring a light blanket, go to the airport 1 extra hour earlier than you would have, bring your patience, and a mask. If you must travel with kids, go to Dollar Store and buy new toys they have never seen, give them these during delays. You can also buy the blow up arm floaties, to use as pillow or lumbar support for your back. Small portable fan or paper fan. A tennis ball to use to massage you aches.

Airlines don’t supply pillows or blankets anymore. There is no food onboard to buy or give, usually there is not enough beverages for 2nds.
Fill your water bottle in airport, or buy a bottle. There is not enough bottled water onboard to fill your container, nor are we allowed to fill it.

If you are booked on last flight of the day, be prepared that you might end up spending the night in airport.

Do not check your medicine or keys in your luggage.

Bring a Pen!! You may have to fill out forms, or need to write down info.

I have been in this business for 30 yrs and I have NEVER seen it this crazy! Every airline is short staffed, gate agents are working alone at gates for oversold flights, the wait times to get through to reservations are 3+ hours. Restaurants and stores can’t get people to work. Super long lines everywhere. LOTS of mechanical issues, weather, staffing issues none of which is due to frontline employees. They are as frustrated as you are. They are EXHAUSTED! This has been happening to them EVERYDAY for over a month, with no relief insight.

So I am asking you to BE VERY KIND TO EVERYONE. It’s always appreciated” ✈bra

Travel is good for the soul. After having to reschedule a few times, we were finally able to take a much-needed getaway to Puerto Vallarta. Upon arrival, the note in our room said “we do not travel to escape from life, but so that life does not escape from us” I couldn’t agree more!
