Road Trip Cont'd - Next, we drove through Idaho and stopped at Craters of the Moon National Monument, a property of the National Park Service. It felt like we were on the moon with the fields of volcanic rocks! In fact, some astronauts even trained there for that reason! What a cool, surprise hidden gem of a park. You can't miss the massive Gate of the Golden Sun arch in front of the China pavilion in Disney World's EPCOT. Inside, you can stroll through the tranquil garden area as you head to the replica of the Temple of Heaven outside of Beijing. Inside there, you can watch a short movie about China, explore the current exhibits, and meet Mulan at designated times.
Elsewhere in the pavilion, there are several shops for unique souvenirs, a sit down restaurant and a quick service counter for your favorite Chinese restaurant fare, and a drink stall for refreshing boba tea and more.

To cap off my 2024 National Park Week series, we're going to the very first United States National Park - Yellowstone!
It is known for its wildlife and many geothermal features, such as the Old Faithful Geyser. It turns out that this is another park related to volcanos, the source of heat that vents out in the many colorful hot springs, mud pots, and geysers around the park. Somehow, we coincidentally visited a lot of volcanic parks recently. This is an awe-inspiring park!

Today, on my 2024 National Park Week series, we’re going to another park formed by a volcano – Crater Lake National Park!
To say the lake is stunning is even an understatement. As we walked to the overlook behind the Visitor’s Center, we caught our first glimpse of the brightest, bluest water we’ve ever seen! It was a perfectly still, almost glass-like, huge round lake. It was amazing!
