Save this post for later - some inspiration for a Girls’ Weekend in Door County if you’re the crunchy/outdoorsy type!
Stay at @htrdoorcounty and rent one of their adorable A-frames. My bed was COMFY AF, Y’ALL! It was a drizzly weekend, so it was nice to have a real roof over our heads rather than a tent.
VISIT all the breweries, many of which have live music. We got BBQ and spicy margaritas at @doorcountybrewingco followed by beers and live music by @tylersjmusic at @swaybeer
The next day, we stopped by @peachbarnbrewing for some beer flights and tunes by @thegentlemengrifters
EAT all the foods, because there are so many incredible options in this foodie county.
Breakfast and coffee at @bigeasydoorcounty was such a treat, the beignets are a must-get. The breakfast sandwiches are incredibly filling. As often as I can, I grab lunch at @rootsinnandkitchen because it somehow still feels like a hidden gem and they always dish out mouthwatering meals. I was unsure of what to expect from @solagodoorcounty because there are mixed reviews online (which is never the end-all-be-all). We had such a lovely time; the drinks are out of this world, the staff is outrageously fun and knowledgeable, and the food was SO GOOD. I’m still dreaming about the queso. We capped our weekend with brunch at @mezzaninerooftop and it was five stars all around. How can you go wrong with a brunch that has mimosas, bloodies, cheese curds, drop doughnuts, and a bacon and veggie hash??
EXPLORE different corners of the county. There are shops galore in every town in Door County. We were pleasantly surprised to see a @lions_mouth_bookstore satellite location in Egg Harbor, and poked our noses in the other area shops as well. We got our sweat on in Peninsula State Park on the Eagle Trail, a beautiful hike that takes you through the woods, along the terraced cliffs, and down to the waterfront.
Most importantly, MAKE MEMORIES AND HAVE FUN. What’s your favorite spot in Door County?

What is your local go-to place when you have something to celebrate, or you want to treat out-of-town guests, or you just know you’re going to have a great meal and experience? For us, that place is @hinterlandbeer
Even before I worked a brief 10-month stint at Hinterland before retiring from the restaurant industry, I had been dining there for years and knew they were one of the top restaurants and breweries in the area. It’s been a thrill to watch them grow and develop, starting in their iconic downtown location many moons ago, to building a small empire in the shadow of Lambeau Field. I can honestly say their beer offerings keep getting better and more inventive, which is refreshing to see and necessary to keep up with the modern beer drinker’s attention span.
Their food is always delicious, with so many choices for all palates. Featured here is a mix of some classic dishes and seasonal plates: peach and heirloom tomato salad, smoked salmon spread, barramundi, shrimp and pork belly, and sweet corn and crab lumache. And what celebration would be complete without a famous Luna Stout brownie?
With indoor and outdoor seating options (weather dependent), and being centrally located in the @titletown district, we love bringing the whole family out for dinner (even if it is a little earlier than usual because #toddlers 😉). What’s your go-to place?

I was SO excited to finally check out @swaybeer in Baileys Harbor, WI. I’m a sucker for a great saison, and was impressed by everything I had seen of Sway online… but would it live up to the hype? YES, YES IT DID. These brews are refreshing, balanced, thoughtfully made, and creative. They’re a delight to drink and share. The space is wonderfully designed, and the staff is bubbly, knowledgeable, and energetic. Sway is a must-stop during any Door County visit.

I was so impressed with @sabbaticalbeer during my short visit to Manitowoc. The space is incredible, housed in an old mill and revitalized beautifully. You can tell that the owners and entire team put their heart and soul into what they do. I’m a total beer snob and will not compliment a brewery that doesn’t deserve it. These guys know what they’re doing, the beers were delicious.
As often as possible, I get a flight of beers when visiting a new brewery so I can really get a feel for what they’re about (and let’s be real, there are usually too many beers that sound great on the menu to narrow it down to just one choice!). I started with the Solar VI, a tropical NEIPA that was refreshing and balanced. The Two Putt Tea Raspberry Seltzer was light, bubbly, and well done. The fruited sour was INCREDIBLE - juicy, fresh, and not the stomach-bile type of sour some breweries churn out. The Bernie Mittens Pastry Stout was a little sweet for my taste, but hey, it’s a pastry stout 🤷🏻♀️
Highly recommend checking out Sabbatical Brewing next time you’re in the area (or make a road trip!).
Got to check out a new coffee shop in Green Bay today - welcome to Press, located in the STUNNING @legacyhotelgreenbay 😍 the team behind this establishment is incredible, and the barista was so sweet and efficient. I love that they have decaf espresso as I’m a decaf latte girlie (this energy is all natural, I swear!), and the Brown Sugar Cinnamon latte I ordered was delicious. They’ve got pastries and snacks available as well. Plus, the vibes are immaculate. Can’t wait to have another meeting here!
