If you’re looking for a fun activity close to .and.ivy you have to check out ! We love to visit there to see the alpacas and all of the other animals. You can schedule a tour of the farm, learn about the animals, and even get to feed them. It’s a beautiful spot to spend the afternoon!

When we renovated the basement, we salvaged a piece of wood and made it a sticker board of some of our favorite Western NC places. We’ll keep adding more as we our sticker collection grows.

Spotted these folks fly fishing on the Tuckasegee this morning. With the fog settled around them on the river, the photo was too good to pass up. Balsam and Ivy is less than a mile from the banks of “The Tuck”, a popular spot on the Western North Carolina Fly Fishing Trail.

Our patio area has been a long-term project. We’ve enlarged it, replanted the areas around it, and added some additional hardscaping. Now, with the addition of lighting, we’re putting the “finished” stamp on the project. Swipe for in-progress and before photos.

We love a good bike ride!…and we found one today. Moses Creek is a short distance from the house, and a few miles of paved roads leads to a gravel road up into the Nanthahala National Forest. The elevation is challenging, but worth it for the views.
