Our Story

It all started back in 1994 when RVi’s President, Dan Decker and his father had a nearly catastrophic RV accident while on a family road trip. This couldn’t happen again, so the father-son duo quickly got to work in their shop and invented the first portable braking system for towed vehicles (the original Brake Buddy).

After years of successfully helping RVers safely flat tow their vehicles, Dan exited the company and continued to innovate new RV products - some of which he sold, and some he kept...

In March of 2011, Dan introduced the first RVibrake. A culmination of over 20 years of experience developing the software and hardware needed led to the production of the smallest, lightest, simplest portable towed braking system every seen.

Dan’s passion for innovation and vision of worry-free RV travel is what pushes our company (RVi) to improve every day. We’re now a few years into production of RVibrake3, the latest iteration of Dan’s revolutionary design, with a twist!
