The American Lighthouse Foundation would like to say THANK YOU to the United States Coast Guard for all their help during Maine Open Lighthouse Day yesterday!

Personnel from USCG Aids to Navigation Team South Portland and USCG Aids to Navigation Team Southwest Harbor helped staff five lighthouses during the event - Portland Head, Spring Point Ledge, Squirrel Point, Owls Head and Fort Point.

And a big shout-out to US Coast Guard Sector Northern New England for all their wonderful support and public relations efforts!

Not only did the U.S. Coast Guard help with staffing five lights during Maine Open Lighthouse Day on September 10th, their presence also added a direct link to Maine's - and the nation's, lighthouse heritage for the visiting public. It was awesome...visitors loved it!!!

LAST CHANCE TO VISIT! This coming Saturday, September 10, will be the last day that the keeper’s house and the tower will be open for visitors. Special hours: the buildings will be open from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday. That’s because Saturday is also MAINE LIGHTHOUSE DAY. Stop by to make one last visit to our newly restored, 150 year old, extra-special light station. Also it's a last chance to see our magnificent artroom, Historical Society exhibit, and our selection of keepsakes and apparel. A few items still have the special sesquicentennial logo! Hope to see you there!
