In Istria, Croatia, at about 20 km from the coast we rent our two private holiday houses. Balini, a stone house with swimming pool
Our villa Balini is a traditional Istrian stone house of 180 m2, within a Mediterranean garden including a large swimming pool (4 x 8 m) and an authentic Istrian barbecue. The house contains two fully equipped apartments and is suited for 6 persons, up to maximum 10 people. This house offers a really breathtaking view on the Mirna valley with the historic hilltop town Motovun. This holiday house received a 4 star categorization from the Croatian tourism authorities. The rent for this house is between 600 and 1.890 Euro per week, depending on the number of people and the season. Casa Acqua Dolce: a luxury house with private spa
This four star house of 250 m2 is situated in the small historical town of Oprtalj (Croatia). It has its own private spa with indoor swimming pool, jet stream, whirlpool bath, sauna, massage mattress and special relax area (more information about the spa). From the living room and the large terrace you have a wonderful view over the surrounding area. This house was completely renovated in 2005. It is fully equipped and disposes of central (floor) heating, making it a year round destination. There are 4 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Both houses are situated in Istria, which is the most Western part of Croatia. Istria is known as the blue and green peninsula, with pure air, a clean sea and a lot of sunny hours. It has a rich cultural heritage. This Tuscany-like region is a land of artists and offers delicious food and wine, a land where the best truffles are found. For more information on the region and what there is to do and to see click "The region" or "Possible activities". Croatia is member of the EU and especially Istria is nearer than most realize. For example, Trieste in Italy is only 35 km away from both of our houses. Venice, the Alps, Austria, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Split or Plitvice are all within 3 hours drive.
