Home caregivers for people with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 should:
✅ Ensure the ill persons rests 🛌 , drinks plenty of fluids and eats nutritious food.
✅ Wear a medical mask when in the same room with an ill person. Do not touch the mask 😷 or face during use and discard it afterward.
✅ Frequently clean hands 🙌 with soap and water or alcohol-based rub, especially:
• after any type of contact with the ill person or their surroundings
• before, during and after preparing food
• before eating
• after using the toilet
✅ Use dedicated dishes 🍽, cups, eating utensils, towels and bedlinens for the ill person. Wash dishes, cups, eating utensils, towels, or bedlinens used by the ill person with soap and water.
✅ Identify frequently touched surfaces by the ill person and clean and disinfect them daily.
✅ Call 📞 your health care facility immediately if the ill person worsens or experiences difficulty breathing.

❤️ HT 5 is the LUO Connecting point of the Heart meridian, which makes it a great acupuncture point for Urine retention, especially when there is fever!
It's also used after stroke, when there is speech problems, or for sudden voice loss or hoarseness, and nervous stuttering. It regulates HT Qi for better blood circulation. And addresses internal wind issues caused by excess fire resulting in dizziness and blurred vision.

A lot of my students are SP Qi deficient, especially at the end of the semester. Overthinking, worrying and over studying depletes the TCM Spleen 😞
The best thing to do is to feed the Spleen good nutritious foods, warm easy to digest foods like sweet potatoes, salmon, eggs, soups and stews, and avoid cold drinks & raw foods and processed foods!

Basic TCM Patterns for Raynaud's Disease, which is excessively reduced blood flow, when the patient is expose to cold or emotional stress, causing discolouration of the fingers and toes mostly.
The Chinese herbal formula Si Ni San is quite helpful in conjunction with acupuncture and especially moxibustion.
Reducing exposure to cold & avoiding stress and smoking may also help the condition.

DU 4 (Ming Men - Life Gate) is a great acupuncture point to tonify Kd deficiency with symptoms of low back pain & menstruation issues.
It benefits Essence (Jing) for low libido, impotence, seminal emission, and premature ej*******on.
It helps nourish Yuan Qi and warm Kd Yang (especially when using Moxa) for fatigue, early morning diarrhea and abnormal amount of watery vaginal discharge.

Chronic Sinusitis in TCM.
- Acupressure on Li 20, Li 4 and BL 2 will help tremendously in opening the nasal passages.
- Avoid dairy and sugar.
- Apple cider vinegar daily in warm water, dries mucus.
- Ginger & Turmeric dried mucus and clear cold.
- Neti pot rinse with saline will also clear the sinus of mucus.
- Steam inhalation with Eucalyptus oil will help reduce inflammation.

Chronic Cough in TCM!
4 Basic Patterns of Diagnosis.
- Lu Yin deficiency: Chronic weak dry cough w/little mucus, dry mouth & throat, low grade fever worse in afternoon, red cheeks, night sweat, 5 centre heat, fatigue, thin, T: red w/scanty coat, P: thin-rapid. Acupuncture: Bl 13, Bl 43, Lu 9, Lu 7, Lu 5, Kd 3, Kd 6.

- Lu Qi deficiency: Chronic weak cough which tires the patient out and is worse on exertion, thin frothy with mucus, short of breath, spontaneous sweat, catch colds easily, fatigue, T: pale w/thin white coat, P: weak. Acupuncture: Bl 13, Bl 43, Lu 9, Lu 7, St 36, Rn 17, Sp 6.

- Sp & Kd Yang deficiency: Chronic cough w/watery mucus worse on exertion, wheezing, edema, aversion to cold, heavy cold limbs, spontaneous sweat, tinnitus, poor appetite, loose stools, T: pale-swollen, P: deep. Acupuncture: Bl 20, Bl 23,
Sp 9, Rn 9, St 36, Sp 6, Kd 7, Lu 7 & Moxa.

- Blood stasis: Recurrent irritating cough worse at night, scanty mucus w/blood streaked, cold extremities, T; purple, P: choppy-wiry. Acupuncture: Bl 17, Bl 13, Sp 10, Li 4, Lv 3, Lu 5.
