The first-ever 𝙃𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙟𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙮 𝙂𝙮𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙪𝙢 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙘𝙠’𝙨 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 was presented to 90-year-old Sithar Lhamo from Khoma, Lhuentse on 10th December. This prestigious honor recognizes her lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting Bhutan’s rich weaving traditions.

The award, a part of the Royal Textile Academy’s 𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢, is the highest honor conferred by the Royal Patron of the RTA.
