Mallory's Story
Starting at the tender age of eight, I realized my true love for the energy of a live crowd. Some things are karma. I was chosen out of thousands at a Backstreet Boys concert, pulled on stage and given my first camera to “capture the moment.” Looking out at that vast crowd and feeling the pulsing energy within the Boston Garden was a sensation I couldn't wait to experience again.
And so was born my passion for event photography. Documenting the vitality of the masses and capturing the spirit of an artist became the dream I wanted to pursue. Gradually transitioning from an iZod Polaroid to a DSLR while studying Visual Communications and Photography at the University of South Carolina, I began working for a regional nightlife company. That opportunity helped me hone the craft of low-light shooting and visual composition. And because people were my principle subjects, it gave me a chance to work on capturing the varied, but lively personalities the night always brings out. Later, that experience would serve me well as I graduated to shooting major artists with bigger-than-life personas. After experiencing Ultra Music Festival during college, I knew Miami would be my future home. Making the move south meant better opportunities to work in some of the best nightclubs and festivals, and build my portfolio with world renowned DJ’s performing in front of some of the world’s most energetic audiences. Today, I'm still just as passionate about my craft... as well as the exciting venues in which I get to perfect it. And I enjoy working with clients who value quality… in my photography and in my pursuit of “capturing the moment.”
