More pictures from our visit of the Mundari, a semi-nomadic ethnic group from South Sudan.

Their livelihood revolves around their Ankole-Watusi cattle, which serve as a status symbol, dowry payment, and source of milk, urine (used for cleaning and dyeing hair), and dung (used as fuel and mosquito repellent).

Our YPT East Africa Combo Tour wrapped up in Kampala, Uganda’s capital, but not before crossing the legendary Equator line! Of course, we had to stop for the classic photo op, standing in both hemispheres at once.

Once in Kampala, we visited the traditional parliament of the kingdom, learning about Uganda’s monarchical heritage.

But history isn’t always comfortable. One of the most chilling stops on our tour was the notorious torture chambers of former dictator Idi Amin. Walking through these underground cells, we reflected on the resilience of the Ugandan people and how far the nation has come.

Our Iraqi Kurdistan group experienced the Newroz celebration in Akre, Kurdistan! 🇮🇶

They witnessed the torchlit march up the mountain, spectacular fireworks and traditional Kurdish dancing in the streets. This is the magic of Kurdistan’s biggest festival!

Our YPT Newroz Tour is busy exploring the landscapes and historic sites of Iraqi Kurdistan! 🇮🇶 They stopped at the Dukan Dam, walked the legendary Hamilton Road, a marvel of engineering winding through incredible gorges, and even took a toboggan ride through the mountains.

Newroz - the Kurdish New Year - is a time of celebration, renewal, and cultural pride for the Kurdish people. The celebrations will happen tomorrow, and we'll share everything on our social media pages - Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok!

Yesterday, YPT’s East Africa group visited the Kazinga Channel, gliding through the waters surrounded by Uganda’s breathtaking wildlife: hippos, elephants, birds... A photographer’s dream.

But the excitement didn’t end there - our group received a surprise visit from an elephant right at our lodge! 🐘😍 That's what we call immersive travelling 😄

The YPT East Africa Combo Tour had the incredible chance to visit a Pygmy village nestled in the mountains of Uganda.

Our group immersed themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the Pygmy people, learning about their ancient traditions and hearing stories passed down through generations of living as nomads in the forest for thousands of years. An unforgettable experience!

🇸🇹 Our Sao Tome & Principe tour has officially kicked off, and our group is already exploring this hidden gem of Africa! They visited the colonial streets of São Tomé City and enjoyed dramatic views of Pico de Cão Grande.
