When you are looking for the grassroots organisations, that need hands-on people like you to come in for a couple of weeks. People like you that have experience and skills- perhaps you're a doctor, midwife, nurse, teacher, gardener, or carpenter, or maybe you are a marketing specialist or a vet. People like you are needed around the world to give workshops, or just 'get in there' for a while. Share your knowledge and do good while traveling! You will find all our recommended NGOs in The Volunteer Guide. Our mission is to provide honest and transparent information and reviews about the NGOs around the world. So that you can select which ones you want to go to. All our information is based on our visits and/or volunteering at the NGOs discussed. Doing research on which organisation is hard from abroad. Looking at reviews on large website, that are funded by the organisation that are listed there also doesn't really help your selection. In The Volunteer Guide, we are objective and look at the REAL value of your contribution and continue to ask questions, are critical and continue to aim for ethical volunteer programs. We do not mention any NGO that we know is not legitimate or is corrupt. In a country where corruption is so ingrained we stand against it and try to support those grass-root organizations that actually DO something, and don't take money 'on the side'. From all the memberships sold we give 10% to one of the featured NGOs, which rotates every 6 months.
