Want your business to be the top-listed Travel Agency?
Welcome to Kefi Travel. What the heck is Kefi Travel you ask? Well, Kefi has been described by various Greeks as meaning the spirit of joy, passion, enthusiasm, high spirits, overpowering emotion or frenzy. And that is what we are going for by creating a travel experience focused on bringing together a group of like-minded people who enjoy travel, getting out of their comfort zone, and sharing experiences with friends and family. Kefi Travellers get exclusive access to pre-planned adventures, can suggest and take part in planning their own adventures, as well as access traditional travel services. Being a Kefi Traveller requires each person have a zest for life and a desire to experience that joy with others.
Why did I set up Kefi Travel? I’d like to say this business was the result of years of planning, research, and backbreaking labour – but it wasn’t. This was a result of people, specifically me, trying to escape their day jobs by taking trips to awesome destinations while still satisfying my need for complete control. And it seemed like a lot of people had the same desire as me, and were willing to follow my lead and take my abuse in order to have the same great experiences. Starting from a small group travelling in Ireland 12 years ago, the numbers and adventures grew every year until it seemed every conversation was focused on the last adventure, the next adventure, and “how do I get on an adventure?”. Building on the experience of each trip, the comments (mostly ignored) and patience (never shown) from participants allowed me to test ideas and approaches which have defined Kefi trips today. It’s amazing when even some widespread bouts of “Montezuma’s revenge” can be viewed as a trip positive!
So where do things go from here? I’ve got no idea. I’d kind of like to go on lots more awesome trips, survive the cost of 3 kids in University, and maybe play a few more games of rugby. To do that we need members that want the opportunity to travel with friends, find new parts of the globe to explore, and try new experiences. The greatest reward for all of us will be seeing active conversations on the site about past trips and plans for more trips, every trip we plan being sold out because they are so much fun, and being able to tell people “no” when they ask for membership because we have achieved a number and culture that we don’t want to change – actually, the last one is for me because I just like saying “no” to be difficult.
Anyway, enough of my rambling thoughts. Book a trip and I’ll see you at the hotel on the other end for a beer. But don’t be late!
