Congrats to The Wild Tales on hosting their very first two Guyanese guests to embark on their full Jungle survival course 🇬🇾🥇
These two awesome ladies will participated in the 13 day survival training ending in an isolation left alone in the jungle of Guyana ✊
Ladies in the jungle is no joke, they are tough, quick learners and carry such a strong mentality 🔥
They should be extremely proud of themselves and what they have achieved. Certainly not an easy task, but they absolutely nailed it 💪

We are so unbelievably excited to announce our upcoming documentary just in time for the month of September.

Supported by Guyana and Offshore Guyana , Reel Guyana is proud to present to you — RELEASING THE GIANTS: Saving Guyana’s Endangered Arapaima.

This film tells the story of the relentless conservation efforts from the indigenous peoples of Apoteri Village. Facing an extended drought, Apoteri’s Sports Fishing tourism, their main form of livelihood is under threat. Arapaimas, which migrate back and forth from ponds to the river during the wet season, are trapped within the forest due to low water levels that shut down their aquatic corridor. As they become extremely vulnerable in the shallow ponds, these fish become easy prey to large predators causing the eco-tourism industry of Apoteri to be at risk.

Facing a potential disaster due to extreme climate conditions, the Apoteri villagers must form a rescue team and save as many Arapaima as they can before the population is irreparably destroyed.

This film is one of determination, grit and the responsibility of a community to protect their resource for the next generation. It acts as a demonstration of the many things within our country that are worth fighting for to preserve, while simultaneously portraying the amazing people who will stop at nothing to make it happen.

Happy Heritage month to our First People. Many voices, one song.

Guyana is home to nine indigenous nations, each embodying warmth, kindness, brilliance, strength, and exceptional talent. Their deep knowledge of our land—its flora, fauna, rivers, mountains, and landscapes—is unparalleled.

During our many adventures, we would have been completely lost in the vast savannahs, rivers, and mountains without the guidance of our indigenous brothers and sisters. Every encounter with their profound love for our country fills us with immense respect.

Listen , when you see a hammock being woven, Tibisiri straw being made into gorgeous craft, cassava bread being made ….when you sit and listen to the beautiful stories and dance to the music and savor the tuma and hear the magical sound wielded by that arrow and bow , you can’t help but fall in love.

Over the past decade, we’ve dedicated our platform to showcasing Guyanese culture, inclusive of our indigenous traditions. We’ve celebrated the beauty of our Indigenous people—their communities, culture, lifestyle, cuisine, and more—and we will continue to do so with inclusivity and with pride.

Our Story :Visit Guyana

The Visit Guyana page was started by Stacey Dos Santos Rahaman and is run by Her and husband Chris Rahaman

Shortly after leaving her job at the Guyana Tourism Authority, Stacey left Guyana to further her studies. While overseas she started looking for a suitable website to direct people to who constantly asked her about Info on Guyana and was shocked to see all the negativity online about Guyana. There was not one website or social media page which showcased a positive side of Guyana. The idea for visit Guyana was born.

“I remember being on my computer one night at 9 and Chris (My Husband and Co-founder) turned to me and said, “Why don’t you do something with that visit Guyana page”. I put up 2 posts and invited about 25 people and went to bed. When I woke up that number had grown to 200, by the next week we had 10,000 fans which have steadily grown to 139,000. I was amazed. Visitors wanted to learn more about Guyana. Guyanese overseas wanted things to remind them of home. The journey to create a 100% positive space to showcase all things Guyanese had begun.

Visit Guyana is privately owned and has no Government affiliation. However we do work closely with all tourism bodies and stakeholders in Guyana.
