Today was my last day of guiding for trout in this Season. And what a Company I had!!!!
Weather was shocking so casting for trout in small sheltered areas was the order of the day, but we didn’t lost the sprits and some lovely trout were caught 🙂
Tomorrow I’m leaving for Championship Predator Lure Fishing, so I will follow up with full 2024 Season statistics in about a week.
In the meantime upon my return, I will be doing some pike trips so if you are thinking of giving a go, just contact me.

Back to reality today after Predator Battle Ireland
This time fish didn’t disappoint.
My Guest came home with 2 new Personal Best catches 😉
Lovely trout of 78cm and pike of 112cm!
We got more pike and also lost one more trout today!
Busy day as it should be 😉

And that’s a wrap….
By far this year was the hardest and most tricky fishing conditions we ever witnessed!
After having excellent first day when we caught our trout (40.5cm- it took us 3 minutes actually 🤣) and 3 nice perch of 35, 37 and 38cm being completed in 20 minutes, we could spend all our time hunting biggest of the pike available…. first day we entered 2 pike of 85 and 93cm. We knew filling the card and upgrades were necessary, but that was the end of first day for us. On second day we got nice fish of 103cm and 97, also replaced 85 cm one for 89.5…
on third day we casted into at least 15-20 good fish, which half of them were over 100cm… and none of them was close enough to finish the attack and being hooked. Pitty, but that's what competition fishing is all about!
Well done to the winners and especially organisers. We are proud to be part of it!

Looks like today Ferox mastered their disappearance skills for us 😉
One solid trout hooked and after jumping straight to the sky managed to free himself….
We got nice pike to wipe the tears and that was it…..

5 Ferox Trout landed today:
66cm, 68cm, 70cm, 73cm and a „carp” of a trout measuring 76cm.
Some of the fish we are getting lately are in absolutely exceptional condition!
They are not easily tricked as the guys found out today, but lucky we cracked the way they wanted it…
Dates are still there so…. I’m just saying 🤣

An absolute BELTER of a day 💥
For today I had a cancellation- Darrin Limond took a chance and filled the spot. What a decision it was!!!
11 takes and 7 Ferox Trout landed.
Sizes were as follows:
59cm, 65cm, 70cm, 72cm, 72cm, 75cm and 84cm!!!
Biggest fish was incredibly stuffed and she was nowhere shy of 17lb! Second biggest was just over 14lb.
All last week saw us struggling with the weather (but still getting some nice trout) but today it was like a different world- just perfect!
And it looks like wether is settled for the coming days so fingers crossed fish will be as active.
If you want to make the best out of the last month of the Season I have following dates left:
2nd, 3rd, 6th, 22nd and 26th of September.
Few more dates available for October pike fishing too.

But apart from finding injured fish of 75cm we also caught a perfectly conditioned slightly smaller one of 66cm. A true fighter it was!

Sad to see but it’s nature… this fish was 75cm and I can’t take any credit for having it in the boat….. well, for having a good sight maybe as I noticed seagulls circling arround something, which happened to be this unlucky Ferox…..

It’s good to be back at it and actually fish in half decent weather.
Pike was the target of today. We enjed some really hectic but short spells of activity. But when they were switched on the action was great!
No monsters caught with best being 104cm but great average size and numbers of fish caught.

First time guiding today after summer break…. Well, what summer 😜 I should say.
Very unstable weather but it was fishable…time to time 😉
Looks like fish already knew what weather is coming for tomorrow and they burried themselves under thick layer of mud….
But…. We lost one Ferox and landed two small pike as bycatch so at least some fish was seen.
Now it can get only better- we just need to wait for this storm to pass 😜

First day of official training for FIPSed Fédération Internationale de la Pêche Sportive en Eau Douce World Championships. Who else can’t wait for the new Trout Season?! This is a short video of 18lb 12oz beast being released to it’s kingdom. A PB for my friend and Guest for the day @Colin Rickard… (Colin actually caught PB pike on the same day too ;-)) This was exceptional fish for the two of us! I never seen trout at so good condition. A real beast and without doubt future record breaker!
