Let us show you a China you don’t know

Tsingpu was founded by a well-known Chinese investor, Mr Wang Gongquan, who is also a poet. Due to his interest in traditional culture and his vision of the travel market, he would like to build retreats where clients can have enough space to communicate with each other, to recapture original lifestyle inspirations, and to appreciate and discover the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

The public area in each retreat is designed to be larger than the accommodation area and is filled with more than 20 local cultural activities. For these activitiesTsingpu did not use local guides or travel companies - rather we invited , but invite local experts and scholars, who will show you real Chinese culture that till now dwelt only in your imagination.

There are now three retreats open to public:

Featuring “traditional walls” as its main theme, the Yangzhou Retreat was designed by award-winning Neri&Hu Architects. Construction was completed in two years, using more than 1.2 million black bricks that were collected from all corners of Yangzhou. In fact our hotel is the second largest walled construction in China, after the Great Wall Hotel in Beijing.

Covering an area of 22 thousand square metres, the Retreat has only 20 rooms with 11 public spaces, - including a tea room, a private gallery, a handicraft classroom, a theatre, a Yoga room, a waterscape garden a Sakura courtyard, a spacious bamboo garden, a restaurant, a cooking classroom, and a meeting room for members only.

The Retreat is only 20-minute walk from Slender West Lake scenic area. Tsingpu has a private pier in the scenic area, and guests can take an optional private boat ride on the lake.

Tsingpu Tulou Retreat is hidden in 700-year-old Taxia Village, neighbouring UNESCO’s World Heritage Tianluokeng Earth House Cluster and the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area. Restored in keeping with its ancient design, it has faithfully maintained the decoration features of the original earth buildings, while offeringthe most comfortable accommodation.

We offer more than twenty interesting activities with local experts and scholars, in and around the Retreat. They willshow you real Chinese culture that has till now dwelt only in the realm of your dreams.

Baisha Old Town, located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, is a part of UNESCO

world heritage of Lijiang Old Town, but quieter and more authentic. Lead a life of local minority and forget the time in Tsingpu Baisha Retreat. We offer more than 20 local activities which will indulge you in the authentic tradition. You can dress in native costume to join local weddings, hike in nearby mountains and villages, listen to interesting talks about local legends, love stories, religions, make handicrafts, join in the Bon fire party.
