International Auster Club (IAC) The International Auster Club was founded in November 1973 and is dedicated to keeping the classic British Auster Aircraft flying.

It was a great weekend for the IAC AGM. Record numbers attending and good fun had by all. Reports to follow in the next magazine but well done all the worthy awards winners and many thanks to John Thorogood for letting us get up close and personal with his Hurricane! A real treat.

Today is the start of the Chinese New Year. As 2025 is the Year of the Snake, we are featuring S/Sgt Wastell who flew for 50 miles over jungle with a three-foot snake in his Auster cockpit. He recalled that it crawled over the instrument panel and then seemed to fall asleep. 🐍

Not long now until the 2024 Draycot fly in. This coming weekend it all happens. Come along and be part of a friendly and relaxed fly in just South of Swindon. Draycot is 3 miles South of Swindon M4 junction 15 and is marked on the map. We have 700m of lovely cut grass and fuel is self serve. Use Safety com 135.480. Friday 21st is set up day but crews are welcome to fly in. Main event is Saturday 22nd and 23rd with overnighting welcome whether camping or in local accommodation. We can provide transport if needed. Live music and BBQ Saturday evening so come and enjoy. PPR with Kevin 07762931590.

Just under 2 weeks to go for the Draycot Fly In. Set up Friday 21st June and overnighting welcome. Main event Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June. All aircraft types welcome.
Draycot is just 3 miles South of Swindon M4 junction 15 and is marked on the CAA map. Draycot has 700m of lovely grass runway 360-180 degrees. Self serve avgas fuel and circuits to the west use safety com 135.480.
Overnighting is welcome whether camping or in local accommodation and free transport will be provide if you book locally. Saturday evening there is live music and a self cook BBQ.
Saturday there is also a prize for the best presented aircraft on the ground between 11.00 and 15.00 with a prize donated by Aviation Leathercraft. PPR Kevin 07762931590.
