The Buddy Chronicles have begun! A week into the Volpe Vortex and he’s settling in well. I had to remind myself he’s not Penny or Cooper, he’s his own personality. But he’s exactly what we needed. Happy, docile, wants to love and be loved, and is just the sweetest thing ever. I will say, they’re a lot of work but life is better with a dog. 😍

WDW and Universal updates. Keeping everyone in Milton's path in our thoughts right now.

We have been closely monitoring Orlando theme park closures due to Hurricane Milton, and assisting our clients with changes and impacts for their vacations.

Please keep in mind that the theme parks’ biggest consideration in these tough decisions is for the safety of their guests, cast members, and team members.

Both Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort are keeping guests informed via their websites, and that will be the best place to go for up-to-date information. Below are the closures listed as of 5:00 PM Tuesday, Oct. 8.

🏰Walt Disney World Resort Closures🏰

—On Wednesday, Oct. 9, our theme parks and Disney Springs will be closed in phases beginning at 1 p.m.

—Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1 p.m.

—Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2 p.m.

—It is likely the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10. We will consider opening Disney Springs Thursday late afternoon with limited offerings.

—This includes the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom on Oct. 10. Event tickets will be refunded.

🎢Universal Orlando Resort Closures🎢

—On Wednesday, Oct. 9, Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk will be open until 2 p.m. and will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 10.

—Universal Volcano Bay will be closed Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10.

—Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida is canceled for Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10.

The culture of is something we are super proud of and what makes our agency what it is. There is certainly no I in TEAM at ETFT. No room for self centered folks, or anyone who thinks they’re better than anyone else. 👋

In the face of another devastating storm, our agents have been supporting one another in so many ways. Watching this team help each other solidifies what ETFT is all about and we couldn’t be prouder of the people who are a part of it.

We will continue to do what we are doing; be the best we can be and facilitate an agency that is fun, collaborative, and a place that people are happy to be a part of.

PSA: There is no such thing as a Disney Travel Agent! Anyone calling themselves that has not taken the time to read the fine print. You want an agent who reads the details and knows the rules.

Agents selling Disney products can say they specialize in Disney destinations, but saying Disney Travel Agent implies they work for Disney. And that is not the case.

We love to think of ourselves as ambassadors of the brand. We love the joy and happiness that Disney brings, and we want our clients to have the best possible experience.

Feeling bogged down by some people in your life? Do an assessment and take out the negativity. Take out the people who use you, who don’t appreciate you, or are just plain phony.

Take out the trash. 🗑️

Not sure what to look for?

Number one - a morale compass. If someone is not doing the right thing, thinks they’re better than the rules, or above what is right, is that a person you want to be around?

Check out a person’s face when the camera is rolling, when they think they’re being watched. Then look when the camera turns off… do they stay smiling or is it all for show? It’s alarming how some people can just flip the switch.

Look at people who are genuine and use their own ideas vs mimicking others. I suppose being innovative is really hard for some people, so copying is the only way.

If you see something that doesn’t sit right in your gut, it’s usually exactly what you think, regardless of the context it’s presented in. Drama is a major distraction from a real personality someone is trying to hide.

Open your eyes to let people in who are honest, loyal, and true to themselves. These are connections that will fill your bucket and make you feel good. Life is about choices. You can choose to surround yourself with people who will raise you up and support you. 🙌🏻
